Director of Pickle Ball Programming and Instruction

General Purpose: The Director of Pickleball Programming and Instruction is responsible for creating Pickleball programming and play options and educational instruction for CDT and PBI managed facilities. As the Director of Pickleball Programming and Instruction, you will be responsible for the conception, education and execution of pickleball programming and play options among professionals at CDT and PBI facilities, as well as camps and events. In addition, the DPP&I will attend various lodging and non-lodging camps to assist with instructional delivery within the company framework of camp experiences. Essential Duties: – Travel between 10- 25 weeks per year activating pickleball camps, tournaments, experiences and conducting trainings at CDT/PBI clubs. – Create and provide training on curriculums and direction on activating programs, play options and tournament formats that can be used in CDT/PBI clubs. – Deliver in person workshops and training at CDT and PBI locations and be the point person for instruction and professional pickleball development. – Work in conjunction with the CDT/PBI travel division to create and increase new adult camps throughout our facilities around the country. – Work with leadership to build and implement Pickleball certification and training within all CDT/ PBI locations. – Develop a company pathway that will allow us to continue to attract, engage and retain pickleball players within our clubs. – Be a pickleball resource on the state of the industry, pickleball facilities, and consult with our teams and partners as needed – Be an industry leader and connected to stakeholders in the industry from pro players/tournaments, recreational communities, certifying bodies, retail partners, software providers, etc. – Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Education/Experience: – At least a high school education or GED. – Certified in Pickleball. – Has a competition background and is actively playing at the national or international level. – An active coach that is still teaching groups and privates and will teach a minimum of 5-10 hours per week to players of all levels. Physical Demands: Frequently stands, walks, uses hands; talks and hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Environment/Noise: – Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. – Noise level is moderate. Certificates/Licenses: – CPR, First Aid Certification, Teaching Certification (Tennis) Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences: – Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the staff may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the staff may use are in English). – Minimum requirement level of a 4.5 USPA rating.
