The Tucson J seeks a tennis professional for our six hard-court tennis center. As a part of the Wellness Department + Experience Team, the Tennis Instructor should always maintain safety and order as a primary focus and should greet all customers with a warm and welcoming attitude. The successful candidate will work with several other professionals, reporting directly to the Racquet Sports Program Coordinator. SCHEDULE: Sunday-Friday, daytime and evening hours available. The Tennis Professional’s schedule will be determined in coordination with the Racquet Sports Program Coordinator to best serve the members of the Tucson J. Staff member will have a regular, weekly clinic schedule and the ability to book private lessons when not involved in a clinic. Reserving courts for privates will be the responsibility of the Tennis Professional and subject to availability. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Have a deep knowledge of the intricacies of the game. Enforce facility rules. Familiarity with Sports and Wellness programming. Follow the court reservation system to ensure a smooth and even flow of traffic on and off courts. Offer instructional services including small groups, clinics, private, and semi-private lessons, and team coaching. Follow the session plans and program structure defined by the Racquet Sports Program Coordinator. Attends staff and facility meetings. Promotes the facility and its amenities to potential members when applicable. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED: Must be an experienced player. Strong team player. Solid administrative skills Excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic.
