Tennis Professional

Tennis Academy in the Greater Pittsburgh area is looking for a full-time Tennis Professional. Includes competitive pay and medical. Position Overview: Pure Tennis Academy (PTA) is seeking a Tennis Professional who is passionate and/or passionate to learn about adult and junior competitive tennis. We are looking for a multi-faceted pro who can teach both high performance players as well as enthusiastically instruct recreational high school players and beginning/intermediate youth players. This candidate would direct our middle and high school development pathway, while assisting with group classes in other key departments at PTA (adult tennis, high performance tennis, youth tennis). We will offer significant opportunities to teach private lessons and will match you with students based on your coaching/playing level and experience. You will be in training to be the future of our long-term junior and adult pathway, including and especially the crucial transition phase to college for our junior players. This role will play an instrumental role in the health of the overall program. Working jointly with the directors, they are responsible for the health and development of a comprehensive racquets program that exceeds member expectations. Professional is expected to bring a positive and enthusiastic presence to the Academy. Working as a team member is essential to the culture at the academy. Requirements: Job Tasks/Duties Provide clinic instruction for club programming individually and with the help of the Head Racquets Professional Assist with and promote and coordinate adult in-house leagues and socials. Communicate with the Head Racquets Professional to publicize club tennis events. Execute special tennis events and tournaments with the help of the Head Racquets Professional Manage individual lesson schedule Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to adjust hitting level to match a wide range of member needs Sufficient stamina to tolerate hot and humid outdoor weather for several consecutive hours. Continuous standing, walking, running, bending, stooping and repetitive actions. Frequent lifting and moving of objects. Education and Experience College degree preferred but not required Collegiate team experience is desirable, preferably with a 4.5 NTRP or above rating. Two to three years of competitive playing experience. Experience working with both juniors and adults desirable Desirable Experience / Ability to Learn High levels of member and guest service – experience at private clubs preferred CPR Certification Ability to restring tennis racquets Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations Able to relate and develop strong relationships with member Ability to individualize instruction to meet member needs and meet student goals Participate in the organization, promotion, and execution of club sponsored events Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration with entire coaching staff in shaping the development of a racquets program reflective of members’ expectations Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles in emergency situations
