PTR National Education Day returned to New York City, uniting tennis professionals for a sold-out day of learning, networking, and forward-thinking coaching.
Held during the start of the US Open, this one-day, free event for PTR members delivered 8 hours of high-impact education from some of the leading minds in the coaching world. Attendees walked away with fresh strategies to improve lessons, develop players, and enhance programming – whether working with juniors, adults, or high-performance athletes.
“Tennis coaches are the best! PTR provides the ultimate global pathway for us to learn, share, and grow the game together. Gathering in NYC during the US Open was the perfect venue for such an inspiring event,” said attendee Monica McLin, winner of #PTRInTheCity social media challenge.
Topics ranged from Jim Harp’s in-depth session, “Who, When, How: Evaluating and Correcting Inefficient Technique – A Ground-Up Approach,” to Angela Garza’s tech-forward presentation, “How Digital Clubs Boost Lessons, Programs & Revenue,” sponsored by Court Reserve.
“This event is about more than CE credits – it’s about connection,” said PTR Event Coordinator Dimitri Vlassov. “New York City and the US Open provide the perfect stage for it.”
Hosted at the Millenium Un One Hilton, attendees connected, exchanged ideas, and grew relationships within the industry.
“It was a highlight of my US Open trip,” said Matt Pressman, Editor of Florida Tennis Magazine. “It was an amazing opportunity to network with so many other like-minded folks in the tennis industry.”
The day was a strategic investment in the future of coaching, going beyond drills and diagnostics.
“The event wasn’t just about gaining knowledge – it was about truly connecting with the energy of New York City and the US Open,” said speaker Bill Riddle, who led the session on adult programming. “Ongoing education and strong professional networks are essential for a lasting career in this industry, and once again, the PTR Staff and Board delivered on both fronts.”
PTR National Education Day proved once more why it’s a flagship event in the coaching calendar. With unmatched content, meaningful networking, and a truly global coaching community, the day lived up to its mission – to empower tennis professionals with the tools, relationships, and inspiration to grow the game.
