Job Description Summary:
The primary objective of the Director of Pickleball is to oversee all aspects of the pickleball programming, operations, and growth, with a focus on creating engaging programs, cultivating member engagement, and leading the development of the pickleball community. This will be accomplished by planning and executing junior and adult programming, tournaments, and camps while meeting high service standing and driving participation across all skill levels.
The Director of Pickleball will achieve these objectives by:
1. Managing and coaching the development and execution of pickleball programs.
2. Leading staff recruitment, training, and mentorship to ensure program success.
3. Overseeing facility operations and fostering a welcoming community for players of all ages and skill levels.
The Director of Pickleball is responsible for communicating and upholding company standards and leading by example. The Director of Pickleball will ensure that team members consistently execute the basics of punctuality, dress code compliance, friendliness and cleanliness.

Develop and manage junior programming, including lessons, leagues, and events tailored to all skill levels.
Organize and manage pickleball tournaments and camps to enhance engagement and attract new participants

Provide exceptional customer service and address member inquiries, feedback, and concerns.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications & Skills:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of Pickleball rules, strategies, and program design
Sales, communication, and rapport-building skills
Experience in coaching/motivating groups and fostering community engagement
Familiarity with reservation systems and tolls like Club Essentials, Playsight, and Court Reserve
Strong Leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Able to generate, maintain, & demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic & positive attitude
Possesses a strong member service focus
Responds professionally to requests and inquiries from guests, members, and staff
DUPR rating above 4.5
· Education Level:
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
· Certifications (One or more of the following):
RSPA Pickleball
PTR
PPR
RPO
ITPA
Current CPR
Experience:
Proven experience in managing pickleball programs, including junior and adult programming, tournaments, events, and camps
Preferred: Prior management experience in retail/hospitality industry leading 3-10 employees
Preferred: Consultative sales experience
Past success in building a pickleball community that promotes inclusivity, engagement, and member retention
Strong relationships with local, regional, or national pickleball networks
Prior experience hiring, mentoring, and managing a diverse team of instructors, event coordinators, or administrative staff
Proven experience in managing budgets for programming, equipment, and staff
Skilled in handling member disputes, staff disagreements, or program-related conflicts with diplomacy and professionalism
· Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in club office; move about club floors and rooms; review, revise, and create club paperwork; communicate with employees, members, and the public
Regularly required to demonstrate or explain proper physical fitness activities, techniques, and procedures. Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds
