Director of Racquets

I. Position Director of Racquets Professional (10.1) II. Related Titles Director of Tennis; Tennis Pro; Tennis Director; Pickleball Pro; Pickleball Director; Head Racquets Professional III. Job Summary (Essential Functions) Organize and direct all club tennis and pickleball activities, events, exhibitions, tournaments, and lessons. IV. Job Tasks (Additional Responsibilities) 1. Plans and directs instructional programs with an actionable service attitude to the members and guests. 2. Welcome members and guests upon arrival at the facility. 3. Prepares courts for play in advance of member’s court reservations whenever possible. 4. Provides lessons and clinics for members and guests relating to the techniques and strategies of tennis and pickleball. 5. Organizes, administers, and officiates at tournaments, exhibitions, and inter- and intra-club social events. 6. Assists with USTA matches held at the Club. 7. Administers and enforces club racquets policies and procedures regarding play on club courts. 8. Strings rackets and perform other light equipment repairs. 9. Purchases and maintains adequate beverage inventory. 10. Sells beverages to members and guests. 11. Coordinates courts’ maintenance, repair, and cleaning with grounds and maintenance departments. 12. Writes and edits all racquets-related news for the club’s newsletter (includes photos when possible), emails, flyers, Club app., and push notifications. 13. Selects, trains, supervises, schedules, and evaluates the assistant tennis professional and other racquet staff. 14. Manages the pro shop. 15. Establishes and implements an accurate inventory control system and reports results accordingly. 16. Implement procedures for inputting and confirming charges into the Club’s POS system for all lessons, clinics, merchandise, and food and beverage sales. 17. Collaborate with the Office Manager and General Manager to develop the budget for the racquet department and take corrective action as necessary to help ensure that budget goals are met. 18. Ensures all club members and guests receive courteous, prompt, and professional attention to their racquet needs. 19. Markets racquets facilities to members. 20. Develop a detailed annual calendar of racquet activities and applicable promotion campaigns annually. 21. Maintains a close working relationship with other club professionals. 22. Attends all staff and management meetings. 23. Maintains an accurate record of all lessons and clinics given and provides written reports monthly. 24. Inspects and maintains all physical areas constantly. 25. Participates in all committees related to the racquet operation. 26. Represents the club in the area of professional racquet activities and at state or national events with approval from the club. 27. Assists the food and beverage director, chef, banquet, and catering manager in coordinating food and beverage service support for racquet events. 28. Ensures all employees consistently comply with the club’s employee manual and all applicable federal and state employment laws. 29. Works at least forty hours weekly and is visibly present on and at the courts during use. 30. Completes other appropriate assignments made by the general manager. V. Reports to General Manager VI. Supervises Assistant Tennis Professional / Shop Staff
