Director of Tennis

Tennis Director Tennis Club in Durham, North Carolina is looking for a full-time Tennis Director. Position Overview: The Club is an award-winning, 22 court facility that is one of North Carolina’s premiere, member-owned clubs. We have been a staple in the Triangle sports community for over 40 years, and promote a friendly, welcoming and fun environment for all of our members and guests. We are currently looking for a Tennis Director who will design, plan, and implement tennis programs that attract new members, retain existing members, generate increased member participation and satisfaction. The Tennis Director is responsible for the proper management of all tennis operations, and ensures security and protection of the club’s assets and facilities. The responsibilities and duties will include: Build, organize and maintain a comprehensive program of clinics, group and individual lessons. • Manage tennis professionals employed by the Club. • Implement effective orientation and training to tennis professionals. Develops ongoing training programs and implements department standards. • Initiate, design, promote, and conduct tennis lessons and clinics in an effort to attract and maintain members’ tennis interests. • Review billing of members and guests to ensure accuracy. • Develop and produce all tennis marketing materials and price lists. • Promote ball machine rental and assist members with their first-time use. Build, organize and maintain a program of social tennis events, including mixers, club competitions, and other recreational activities. • Initiate, design, promote, and conduct round robins, ladders, socials, programs, and tournaments. • Recruiting new participants to the various programs through networking, social marketing and other outreach activities. • Managing non-member participation and converting non-members to members. • Make introductions between members at the same playing level. Increase member participation by actively “facilitating play.” • Promote and support USTA teams of the Club. • Call and welcome all new tennis members within one week of joining the club and provide them with information about Club’s tennis programs. • Consistently check-in with members to see how their experience is at the Club, through phone calls, emails, surveys, face-to-face meeting etc. Complete administrative tasks that allow for the full functionality of the department. • Maintain a database of information on the tennis players within the Club (ability and interests). • Write and edit tennis-related news for the club newsletter. • Prepare monthly calendar of events. • Attend tennis committee meetings and any needed board meetings. • Assist with the maintenance of rules and implementation of changes as they occur, as well as maintain Club tennis calendar, court schedule and rainout schedule. • Monitor the status of the tennis facilities and report to the General Manager or Maintenance Director any required repairs. Assist in any maintenance issues as necessary. • Manage inventory and all items related to the pro shop. • Contribute articles to newsletters, and provide information for the Club’s website. • Respond to all members’ phone calls and emails, as well as manage signups for all tennis related events. • Assist General Manager in the development of annual tennis department budget. • Plan, develop and implement initiatives that align with membership and revenue targets. • Works cooperatively with other departments to develop combined programs for the membership. • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve member satisfaction. • Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property. *How to apply:* Please send your resume and cover letter to the email provided (info@hollowrock.com).
