Green Island Country Club is a retreat from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city in the heart of Green Island Hills. Those who are long-time Members or who have worked here for several years indicate that Green Island has always stood apart in its “family” atmosphere of service. The word retreat is defined as “a place of privacy or safety, refuge”. For many, Green Island has become their “home away from home”. A certified instructor is preferred, however, the right candidate, motivated to learn and develop into a certified teaching professional is welcome to apply and immediately begin the process of certification. The Club’s facilities include eight Har-Tru tennis courts, 5 independent hard surface pickleball courts, a fitness room, a golf course, a beautiful pool complex, a complete racquets pro shop, and a variety of dining facilities. Since its founding in 1961, Green Island Country Club has developed a rich history of competition in racquet sports with very active tennis members. The GICC racquets program has an active and energetic program that provides its members with a range of racquet offerings which includes league, tournament, and social play, as well as instructional programs which encompass private and group lessons, clinics, and practices. The racquets program incorporates a creative variety of special events and activities allowing members to socialize while enjoying their favorite racquets activity.
