Head Tennis Professional

Green Island Country Club is a retreat from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city in the heart of Green Island Hills. Those who are long-time Members or who have worked here for several years indicate that Green Island has always stood apart in its “family” atmosphere of service. The word retreat is defined as “a place of privacy or safety, refuge”. For many, Green Island has become their “home away from home”. A certified instructor is preferred, however, the right candidate, motivated to learn and develop into a certified teaching professional is welcome to apply and immediately begin the process of certification. The Club’s facilities include eight Har-Tru tennis courts, 5 independent hard surface pickleball courts, a fitness room, a golf course, a beautiful pool complex, a complete racquets pro shop, and a variety of dining facilities. Since its founding in 1961, Green Island Country Club has developed a rich history of competition in racquet sports with very active tennis members. The GICC racquets program has an active and energetic program that provides its members with a range of racquet offerings which includes league, tournament, and social play, as well as instructional programs which encompass private and group lessons, clinics, and practices. The racquets program incorporates a creative variety of special events and activities allowing members to socialize while enjoying their favorite racquets activity. This year-round position represents a great opportunity to work in a beautiful location with an enthusiastic membership at one of the nicest country clubs in the south. This position requires previous experience in a similar position and includes league organization, programming, event planning, set-up, and execution. No phone calls will be accepted by the Green Island Country Club, regarding this position. Please respond to the email listed below. The position will easily provide 30 hours per week or more in programming/teaching (a mix of groups and private lessons). Additional hours can be gained through racket stringing, private and semi-private lessons, and administration related to the tennis center programs. Must be able to work some evenings and alternating weekends. In addition, this is an opportunity to learn from one of the more respected Directors of Racquets in the Southeast, also a USPTA Certification Tester/Coach Developer in Tennis and Pickleball, which will allow you to move up quickly in the future. This position includes a robust compensation that includes a competitive salary, percentage of lessons, stringing, PTO, 401K, Insurance, and meals provided. For the right person, this could be a very nice compensation package.
