Legacy Park is in Kennesaw, GA. Our community comprises of approximately 2000 homes with 10 tennis courts and 4 pickleball courts. We have had the same tennis pro, Adam Grandstaff for 18 years. Unfortunately, he is stepping away from teaching tennis to spend more time with his family. Tennis is thriving in the neighborhood with 15 Adult ALTA teams and 4 USTA Friday Night Mixed this spring. Additionally, with the permanent conversion of our walk on court to pickleball, we have a very quickly growing pickleball community. Our junior program is not as large and needs to be grown/developed. LEGACY PARK COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION, INC. TENNIS DIRECTOR The Tennis Director is responsible for managing a high-quality recreational tennis facility and is the primary source of tennis and pickleball instruction for adult and junior Legacy Park residents at all levels. Legacy Park has 10 tennis courts and 4 pickleball courts. Responsibilities Include: • Manage and maintain all current recreational tennis and pickleball programs and special events with an emphasis placed on generating increased interest from novice and seasoned Legacy Park players. • Proactively ensure all courts are kept in playable condition. • Work in concert with the HOA to ensure the facilities are safe and well-maintained. • Provide quality, professional tennis and pickleball instruction to adult and junior players year-round. • Offer private and group lessons to Legacy Park residents. Private lessons for any non-resident must have prior HOA approval. • Focus of instruction will be on private and group lessons and weekly ATLA/USTA team drills and practice. • Manage and participate in current Legacy Park tennis and pickleball programs. • Provide annual marketing and promotional plans to the HOA for approval. • Provide and manage any supplemental coaching staff, ensuring that a consistently professional quality of instruction is provided at all times. • Develop and implement tennis and pickleball programs and special events with approval from HOA. • Identify and develop untapped markets at the adult and junior levels. • Promote the Legacy Park tennis and pickleball community and contribute to the ongoing purpose and vision of the community. • Actively manage all issues related to ALTA/USTA league management, including all court reservations. • Coordinate and host tennis and pickleball mixers and tournaments. You must have: • Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in tennis and pickleball recreation programs. • Ability to work well under pressure, coordinating multiple tasks at any given time. • Leadership – Exhibits confidence in self and others; effectively influences actions and opinions of others. • Professionalism – Approaches the community professionally, reacts well under pressure, and follows through on commitments in a considerate manner. Your qualifications must include: • Two (2) or more years of professional related experience in tennis and pickleball instruction of children and adults. • At least eighteen (18) years of age. • Passed on-court and written certification exams. • Three (3) years or five (5) seasons of teaching experience, as verified through previous employment. • US Professional Tennis Registry member (professional) preferred. • Extensive expertise and experience with tennis and pickleball-related equipment, facilities, operations, and teaching in a comprehensive recreational program environment. • Considerable knowledge of recreation philosophy, planning, and administration. • CPR and First Aid certifications are required annually and on file in the HOA. The ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations is essential. • Must pass a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act. • Must be able to meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
