Dear Members and Partners,
Since stepping into the role of CEO, I have made it a priority to listen, to understand the experiences, hopes, and frustrations of our staff, our Board, our members, and our wider network of coach developers and partners. These conversations have offered insight, honesty, and importantly, a deep reminder of what makes PTR unique: the passion, expertise, and care our people bring to this sport every day.
What I’ve heard is clear. There is immense pride in what PTR has achieved, especially our global reputation for quality education and certification. But there is also a shared desire to strengthen our culture, to rebuild trust, and to ensure every member feels seen, supported and valued.
This is a pivotal moment, not just for PTR, but for tennis more broadly. I am committed to meeting this moment with humility, purpose and action…focusing efforts on three key areas:
Quality – Elevating the member experience through high-impact learning, enhanced tools, and responsive support
Connection – Creating spaces where members feel they belong, are heard, and can contribute meaningfully to the direction of the organization
Credibility – Strengthening our governance, our relationships, and the consistency with which we deliver on our promises
Building for long-term success goes beyond surface change. It includes working with our Board and staff to define a shared direction, engaging with partners like the USTA to amplify our collective impact, and investing in the systems and people who make PTR a leader in coach education worldwide.
Trust is built through transparency, consistency, and lived values, and I am champion of all three. The values that guide us, connection, collaboration and community, are not just aspirational words. They are the compass we will use to navigate this next chapter.
PTR has a proud history and a powerful future. I am honored to serve this community and excited about what we can achieve together.
With gratitude and belief in what lies ahead,
Pete Hurley
