The Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is excited to announce PTR Community Day, a nationwide event aimed at introducing new players to the sport of tennis through free clinics hosted by PTR coaches. Scheduled for June 22, PTR Community Day is poised to be a remarkable occasion for communities across the country to come together and celebrate the joy of tennis.
PTR Community Day is designed to welcome individuals of all ages and skill levels to participate in free 1-hour tennis clinics. These clinics will be conducted by certified PTR coaches who are passionate about growing the sport and inspiring the next generation of tennis enthusiasts.
“PTR Community Day is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to our communities and share the love we have for this sport,” said Karl Hale, Interim CEO of PTR. “We believe that tennis is a game for everyone, and this event is our way of ensuring that more people have the chance to experience it.”
Special Incentives for Coaches
To encourage participation from PTR coaches, the organization is offering special incentives. The first 20 coaches to register for PTR Community Day will receive an exclusive PTR Community Day banner to display at their clinic.
Additionally, all participating coaches will receive access to an editable flyer to help promote their event and a comprehensive lesson plan specifically designed for junior players. These resources are intended to support coaches in delivering an engaging and effective clinic.
How to Participate
PTR is calling on all its members to get involved. Coaches interested in hosting a free clinic can register by filling out a simple form on the PTR website (www.ptrtennis.org/ptr-community-day). Once registered, coaches can customize their flyers to promote the event locally and use the provided lesson plan to ensure a smooth and enjoyable clinic experience.
Community members are encouraged to check with local PTR coaches to find a clinic near them. The clinics are open to beginners and experienced players alike, providing an excellent opportunity for families to enjoy the sport together.
Building a Stronger Tennis Community
PTR Community Day is more than just an introduction to tennis; it’s about building stronger, more connected communities through sport. By participating in this event, PTR coaches are not only growing the game but also fostering a sense of community and wellness.
“Events like PTR Community Day are crucial for the growth of tennis,” added Hale. “They help us reach new players and show them that tennis is accessible, fun, and beneficial for their health and well-being.”
