PTR member, Issam Jellali, began coaching his fellow Tunisian Jabeur in 2020 and under his guidance improved her WTA singles ranking from No. 31 to No. 2 in just two years. Jabeur has reached three major finals – at Wimbledon the last two years and at the U.S. Open in 2022 – but she has only made it as far as the quarterfinals in Paris, that coming in 2023 when she was upset by Brazil’s Beatriz Hadad-Maia.
One of the major influences on the tennis career of Sloane Stephens has been PTR coach Kamau Murray. In 2017 with Murray by her side, Stephens had the moment of her career when she rallied to win the U.S. Open, defeating Madison Keys in the final. Nine months later, Stephens nearly nabbed another major title at Roland Garros, but stumbled at the last moment in a three-set final-round loss to Simona Halep. Stephens, herself, is also a PTR certified coach.
